THE GRACE AND TRUTH PATHWAY
Surrounding the Father’s Heart Labyrinth at Healing Presence Christian Retreat

The Grace and Truth Pathway is a unique 7-foot-wide transitional space that encircles the main Father’s Heart Labyrinth. It serves as a symbolic and functional bridge between the outer physical world and the inner spiritual journey (the labyrinth’s seven concentric circles). It is anchored by six oak trees, which symbolize strength, endurance, and deep roots.
Physical Boundaries: The path is physically defined by six oak trees as its outer boundary and the 7th (outermost) concentric circle of the inner labyrinth as its inner boundary. The pathway is designed to be walked in a clockwise direction, starting at the lower left side near the entrance to the Father’s Heart labyrinth.
Tree 1: The Root of Invitation – The Seed of Grace
"For from His fullness we have all received grace upon grace." (John 1:16 ESV)
Reflection: Rest your back against the trunk of this tree. Meditate on the truth that we who have trusted in Christ have received God’s grace, more grace, and then more grace. God’s grace is the undeserved love, kindness, mercy, forgiveness, strength, and wisdom that He gives to us through Jesus Christ. In what ways have you experienced God’s grace in the form of blessings upon blessings in your life?
Tree 2: The Trunk of Strength – The Pillar of Fortitude
"Those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." (Jeremiah 17:8 NLT)
Reflection: What is the heaviest burden you brought onto this path? Imagine it dissolving into the earth, replaced by the Father’s love, which is unconditional and asks for nothing in return. Look upward at the reach of these branches. Just as this oak stands firm through the seasons, you are being strengthened by the Holy Spirit within you.
Tree 3: The Canopy of Shelter – The Shadow of Protection
"O God, have mercy! I look to you for protection. I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by." (Psalm 57:1 NLT)
Reflection: Stand beneath the leaves and notice the light filtering through. You are safe here. In this moment of quiet, allow yourself to be fully seen and fully protected by the Father’s heart.
Tree 4: The Branch of Transformation – The Threshold of Truth
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32 NLT)
Reflection: As you linger beside this tree, ask yourself: What old story about myself am I ready to leave behind so that I may walk in freedom?
Tree 5: The Sap of Connection – The Current of Life
"I am the vine; you are the branches….Apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5 NLT)
Reflection: Life flows unseen through the centre of this oak. Close your eyes and feel your own breath as you breathe deeply. You are part of a living, breathing lineage of grace. Breathing grace means to breathe in God's grace and then breathe it out to others, even if they do not deserve it.
Tree 6: The Acorn of Legacy – The Crown of Purpose
"In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory." (Isaiah 61:3 NLT)
Reflection: Your journey along the Grace and Truth Pathway does not end here. What small seed of truth have you gathered today that with the help of the Holy Spirit you will plant in the world tomorrow?
